3 Ways to Make V-Day More Enjoyable

Alright, fine, so I have a valentine this year. But that doesn’t mean that I’m big on Valentine’s Day. Despite how I feel this year (which I will admit is absolutely giddy and happy), I genuinely believe that you should cherish the special relationships you have at any given time, whether they be platonic, romantic, or family-oriented. Relationships are what make life worth living, right?

Regardless of how you’re spending V-Day this year, here are some ways to make it more enjoyable:

Maintaining personal relationships1. Spend it with friends.

Even if you have a husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, or complicated relationship (or even if you don’t have any of these), friends are an integral part of life. Take the time to spend it with them. I have a valentine, but I still got small gifts for my girlfriends because they deserve some loving, too. Let the people who are special in your life know that you care – with gifts or with words. Just let them know!

2. Do something for yourself.

Ok, so you don’t have someone to spend Valentine’s Day with. Who the heck cares? Do something for yourself, the only person you have to spend every day of your life with. If you can’t love yourself, who else can? For more motivation, watch this video because it’s hilarious:

3. Do something romantic.

Again, I know that I have a valentine, but life is about taking risks. If you care about someone (romantically), then take a risk. Otherwise, you’ll live your life never knowing if they feel the same way. Wouldn’t you rather take the risk knowing than spending 3 years to figure it out? I would.

I hope everyone has a great Valentine’s Day, however you decide to spend it.

My boyfriend is in Chicago and I’m in Florida – so it’s Skyping for me this Valentine’s Day – but I think I WILL do something for myself.  Like buy some more shoes. A girl can never have too many shoes!  BTW – the florist delivered someone else’s flowers to me. Wonder where mine are?

You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do, right? And yes you should treat yourself! Shoes are always a good thing. :) Hope you have an amazing V-Day, Jody!
